The Ganpat University's Pharmacy College recently hosted an orientation program on 16th Sep 2024 for its incoming batch of students, emphasizing the importance of character and compassion in the profession. Dr. Pramod Kumar Rajput, Professor of Practice, Former Senior Vice President, Cadila Pharma Pvt. Ltd, and Dr. Deepak Gondaliya, President of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Pro-Chancellor & Director General Ganpat University, Dr. R. K. Patel, Pro Vice Chancellor Ganpat University, Dr. Praful Bharadia Executive Dean FOS & FOP, Ganpat University, Dr. Sanjeev Acharya Principal, GUNI-Institute of Pharmacy, and DR. Paresh Patel, Associate executive Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy were present at Pharma- આરંભ, 2024 programme.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Principal and Executive dean Dr. Praful Bharadia followed by a keynote speech from the university's President, Dr. Ganpat I. Patel (Dada). In an inspiring address, Dada urged the students to prioritize becoming good human beings before becoming good pharmacists.
The President also highlighted the significance of ethics, integrity, and social responsibility in the pharmacy profession. "As future pharmacists, you will be entrusted with the well-being of patients and the community. Strive to make a positive impact, and always uphold the highest standards of professionalism."
A distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Pramod Kumar Rajput, addressed a packed auditorium, delivering a thought-provoking talk on the often-confused concepts of growth, progress, and success.
"Growth is about learning, adapting, and evolving," emphasized by Dr. Rajput. "Progress is about moving forward, achieving milestones, and making headway. Success, however, is about fulfillment, happiness, and making a meaningful impact."
Dr. Godaliya emphasized the importance of embracing lifelong learning to achieve success. "Learning is a continuous process, and it's essential to stay curious and keep learning throughout your life,".
Dr. Mahendra sharma, The pro Chancellor and director general of Ganpat university addressed the incoming batch of B. Pharma students at the orientation program, emphasizing the significance of industry-university collaboration and skill development in the field of pharmacy.
"Industry within University and University within Industry" was the central theme of the Vice Chancellor's speech, highlighting the importance of integrating industry practices and expertise into the university's curriculum to prepare students for the challenges of the pharmaceutical sector. He also stressed that The university is committed to supporting the skills of our students, providing them with state-of-the-art facilities, research opportunities, and industry partnerships
Dr. Sanjeev Acharya graciously delivered the vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of the event.
Mr. Kush Prajapati, Assistant Registrar at Ganpat University, led the first session on GUNI's technological platforms, including social media, on Day 02 (17th Sep) of the orientation program. He provided all the details about the IT resources and services that Ganpat University offers. Additionally, a thorough explanation of how to use the ERP system was given by him. Namo Panchkriya: personality grooming and dress code.
This session was conducted by Dr. Prakruti Joshi, Assistant professor of communication skills. In this session, Ma’am has adaptability of environment of college, Panchkriya five fundamental acts. She has also delivered lecture on cooking nutrition skills, personal health and fitness, yoga and meditation, physical fitness, embracing oneself, sustainable lifestyle, maintenance and troubleshooting basics and design thinking. Along with that two videos were displayed to make them understand about critical thinking and grooming skills students should have and made points out on behavior towards professors and discipline.
Academic and Exam Regulations: Coordinator Dr. Nikunjanaben R Patel, Examination Assessment Coordinator
To familiarize newly admitted students with the academic and examination regulations, policies, and procedures of the institution, ensuring a smooth transition into their academic journey, Dr. Nikunjana Patel oriented the students with GUNI exam Policy.

- Dr. Nikunjana Patel presented an overview of the institution's academic policies and regulations. Emphasis was laid on the importance of maintaining academic integrity, regular attendance, and adherence to examination rules. Students were introduced to the institution's grading system, evaluation criteria, and procedures for appealing grades. The role of mentorship and student support services in academic success was highlighted.
Medicinal Plant Garden Visit and Tree plantation: Coordinator Dr. Nikunjanaben R. Patel, Associate Professor, GUNI-IOPH
The Newly admitted students were introduced with the importance of medicinal plants, promote environmental awareness, and encourage community involvement through tree plantation.
The event commenced with a guided tour of the institutional medicinal plant garden, led by Dr. Nikunjanaben Patel. Students were introduced to over 70 species of medicinal plants. The guide explained the botanical characteristics, medicinal properties, and traditional uses of each plant. Students showed keen interest, asking questions and engaging in discussions.
Following the garden tour, students participated in a tree plantation drive. The activity aimed to promote environmental responsibility and contribute to the institution's green initiatives. Students were briefed on the importance of tree plantation, its benefits, and the role they can play in mitigating climate change.
Research activities at FOP: Coordinator and Speaker Dr. R. P. Patel, Professor & Head, SKPCPER
The expert session led by Dr. Rakesh Patel provided insights into the current research activities at SKPCPER & CARS, GUNI. Dr. Patel described importance of research in academic as well as professional life. He gave overview on the various research activities going on at FOP including thrust areas of research, data related to Grants, Patents, Publications & Presentations, & infrastructure available in the different departments. He also explained ecosystem for research at FOP & CARS GUNI and motivated students to participate in Shod Students Research Convention 2024.
On September 18th, 2024, Women Development Cell, FOP, Ganpat University has organized the lecture to orient students on “Life & Activity of Women Development Cell/Gender Sensitization Cell. The Cell aim is to provide an environment which is free from sexual harassment and a methodical redressal forum for the victim. The newly joined students of B.Pharm Sem I was orientated about various programs organized for awareness amongst students about the issues related to the youth, girls in particular. Moreover programs to enhance the self- esteem and self- confidence of girl students, women faculty and staff in the University are regularly planned. Students were also aware about anti-ragging committee and procedure to be followed.
Campus Visit was also organized for Students and parents.
